Amazon, the online retailer, is seeking a US patent for the use of "selfies" ( A ) passwords for
customers who shop with their smartphones. The company claims the combination of sensor and camera
capabilities in smartphones and face and gesture recognising software results in higher security than
passwords or identification numbers.
